Final: Red Sox 12, Yankees 1 - Red Sox win third game in a row against Yankees, Crochet strikes out 11 batters
The Red Sox win their third game in a row against the New York Yankees behind another dominant performance from Garrett Crochet.
Boston's ace gave the Red Sox seven quality innings, limiting the Yankees to just five hits and one run. Most notably, Crochet struck out 11 batters and recorded his 500th career strikeout during his start.
500 and counting.

The Red Sox got to Yankees starter Will Warren early, helping give Crochet early run support. In the third inning, Trevor Story drove in the first two runs of the game with a bases-loaded two-run RBI double.

Much of the same happened in the fourth inning. With the bases loaded and no outs, Roman Anthony and Alex Bregman produced back-to-back RBI sac flies giving the Red Sox a 4-0 lead.
The Yankees scored their only run in the bottom half of the fourth inning, as Giancarlo Stanton delivered a solo home run to right field. However, Story countered with a solo shot of his own, keeping Boston's four-run lead.

In the back half of his start, Crochet looked dominant against New York's lineup. After pitching a 1-2-3 sixth inning, Crochet finished his day on the mound striking out the side in the seventh inning.

In the eighth inning, Greg Weissert was the first reliever to come out of the bullpen for Boston. Weissert's time on the mound was shaky, and he exited the game putting runners on the corners with two outs. Justin Wilson came in to pitch against Jazz Chisholm, and he struck out the lefty batter keeping the Yankees at one run.
In the ninth inning, the Red Sox completely blew out the Yankees in embarrassing fashion. After Anthony doubled to start the inning, Jarren Duran brought Anthony home with an RBI single. Nathaniel Lowe then drove home Duran with an RBI single putting the game at 7-1.

Things got even worse for the Yankees. After an RBI single from Ceddanne Rafaela, Anthony Volpe committed an error at shortstop which sent home another run for Boston.
