The Red Sox fell to the Twins, 5-4, in 10 innings as their winning streak ended at six games. It was Boston's first walk-off loss of the season. Kyle Farmer drove in the winning run on a single to center as a pinch-hitter. The Sox have a chance to win the series Thursday afternoon. Garrett Whitlock ground through seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits (one homer) with six strikeouts. Justin Turner (2-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI) homered, and Triston Casas' RBI double in the eighth tied it for Boston. Kaleb Ort took the loss.

Alex Verdugo is riding an 11-game hitting streak, while Triston Casas has six straight games with a knock. Christian Arroyo is coming off a 5-for-5 night with a home run and a double, four RBI and four runs as a very late addition to the lineup.
The Sox have won Garrett Whitlock's last four starts. This will be his first start against Minnesota and his fifth appearance. He has a 3.86 ERA against the Twins through his first four relief outings.
Corey Kluber was placed on the 15-Day IL with right shoulder inflammation. INF David Hamilton was recalled from Triple-A Worcester to fill the roster spot. LHP Brandon Walter is expected to join the team from Worcester, Chris Henrique reported.
Gray will make his 11th career start and 12th appearance against Boston. He has a 6.29 ERA with a 1-7 record.
