Final: Rays 9, Red Sox 3 - Sox blow two-run lead to drop fourth straight

For a time, it looked like the Red Sox were positioned to end their streak of futility against the Tampa Bay Rays and Tropicana Field.

Then came the fifth inning.

What had been a 3-1 lead for the Red Sox was turned upside down as the Rays sent 11 runners to the plate, with seven runners scoring, sending the streaking Rays to 9-3 victory.

It was the fourth loss in a row for the Sox and their 13th straight at Tropicana Field. After sweeping the Tigers to begin this trip, the Sox limp home with a 3-4 mark away from Fenway.

The Sox used a solo homer from Rob Refsnyder and a run-scoring single from Justin Turner before the Rays surged.
