Final: Red Sox 10, Nationals 3 - Red Sox put up double digits runs in consecutive games against Nationals
The Red Sox win their second game against the Washington Nationals in another high-scoring victory.
Facing off against left-handed starter Mitchell Parker, Boston's unique lineup found early success en route to the win.
For the first time in his career, Nate Eaton batted as the leadoff hitter, and he reached first base to start the game for Boston. After Eaton's at-bat, Romy Gonzalez drove in the first run of the game with an RBI double.

By the 3rd inning, the Red Sox were able to put the game out of reach with another massive offensive inning. Roman Anthony started it off with an RBI double, and Jarren Duran followed a few at-bats later with a two-run RBI triple.

An error by Parker from a softly hit Abraham Toro ground ball brought home Duran from third, and Ceddanne Rafaela made the Nationals pay with a two-run home run. Gonzalez drove in the final run of the inning giving the Red Sox a 9-0 lead before the Nationals batted through their entire lineup.

Walker Buehler got the win in his start pitching 5.0 innings allowing two earned runs. Boston's run support helped out Buehler, but he was still able to pitch a solid game getting better control of the strike zone. Buehler did not allow a walk in his outing but gave up eight hits against the Nationals.
Rafaela drove in the 10th run for the Red Sox in the 8th inning, and Boston's bullpen pitched four shutout innings giving the Red Sox the series win.
The Red Sox have put up double digit runs against the Nationals in consecutive games this series. Alex Cora's lineup against left-handed starters has helped Boston put up big offensive numbers, and this game was another example of that.
Gonzalez recorded the most hits for Boston today as he went 3/5 with two doubles and two RBI's. Rafaela and Anthony also picked up multiple hits with Rafaela getting three RBI's. Another great offensive game for Boston.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox continue their series with the Nationals after their dominant 4th of July victory to open the series.
Nate Eaton is leading off for Boston. This is the first time all season he has become the leadoff hitter.
After optioning reliever Zack Kelly to Triple-A Worcester, the Red Sox instead placed Kelly on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to June 30) with a right oblique strain.
