The Red Sox returned to the win column, picking up their first victory in three games with a 6-4 win over the Mariners in Seattle on Tuesday. Boston fell behind early, but Brayan Bello found his way out of a first-inning jam. Christian Arroyo got the Sox on the board with a two-RBI ground-rule double for a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning before Alex Verdugo's two-run homer in the fifth and Reese McGuire's first dinger of the season in the sixth added pivotal insurance as Seattle tried to claw back. Chris Martin, Josh Winckowski and Kenley Jansen locked it down in relief.

WHAT'S UP

After unraveling in Monday's 6-1 loss to open the three-game set in Seattle, the Red Sox have followed up their five straight wins with three losses in a row. They have just nine runs combined over the last four games, compared to 30 in the previous five.

Tuesday's trade deadline appeared to come and go without so much as a peep from the Red Sox, save for shipping out Kiké Hernández last week. However, Boston is reportedly acquiring utility infielder Luis Urías from the Brewers, according to Jeff Passan. In 55 at-bats this season, Urías is hitting .145 with one home run and five RBI. Has a .299 OBP this year, .236 SLG and .535 OPS. Can play second, shortstop and third.

The Sox were also reported to have interest in Mariners infielder Kolten Wong, designated for assignment, per Chris Cotillo. That interest has likely subsided with the apparent acquisition of Urías.

After trading closer Paul Sewald, the Mariners also dealt OF A.J. Pollock and utility player Mark Mathias

Miller has never faced the Red Sox. He gave up six runs and eight hits in 5.2 innings against Minnesota last Wednesday, a 8-7 Seattle win. He also had sevens strikeouts.

Bello gave up just one run and three hits in five innings in a 12-3 win over the Mariners on May 17 at Fenway, his only start against Seattle. He had seven K's and five walks, too. Last time out, Bello went six innings, giving up three runs and four hits in a 5-3 win for Boston.
