Final: Giants 3, Red Sox 2 - Devers hits first home run with Giants, Red Sox struggle scoring runs
The San Francisco Giants tie up the series with a 3-2 win against the Red Sox.
Up until the last inning of this game, the Red Sox couldn't figure it out at the plate which became a defining factor in this loss.
Brayan Bello got the start in this game, and Boston's starter pitched six innings allowing all three San Francisco runs. Although he had the loss in this game, Bello pitched a consistent game walking one batter and only giving up four hits. He also struck out six batters.
The Giants came out to an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning with a Helliot Ramos solo home run.

In the 4th inning, San Francisco extended their lead as Rafael Devers recorded his first home run as a Giant. Devers has only gotten one hit against his former club in two games, but his one hit became the difference-make.

At the plate, the Red Sox struggled against Giants starter Landen Roupp, who pitched six scoreless innings on the mound.
It took Boston until the 9th inning to score their first runs of the game. Facing San Francisco's closer Camilo Doval, Roman Anthony got the inning started with a center field double. Trevor Story then put runners on the corners with a single, and Wilyer Abreu drove in the first run of the game.
Nate Eaton pinch ran for Abreu at first, and a missed throw-out on an Eaton steal gave Boston their second run of the game. However, that was all Boston could do, as they recorded consecutive outs leaving the tying run at third.
In yesterday's game where the Red Sox helped out their starter with run support, the opposite happened in this one. Bello had another quality start in this one and has managed his control much better in his last two starter. The main storyline that will come out of this will be Devers' home run, and this is probably the worst part about this loss.
The Red Sox will wrap up their series tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. with Lucas Giolito on the mound.
