Final: Brewers 6, Red Sox 5 - Brewers complete sweep, Red Sox yet again lose in extras taken at BSJ Headquarters (Top Red Sox)

The Red Sox get swept by the Brewers 6-5 in an embarrassing series of baseball.

Yet again, failed opportunities at the plate and late inning miscues result in this team now being four games under .500.

Ceddanne Rafaela scored the first run of the game with a solo home run in the 2nd inning giving the Red Sox the early lead. However, the Brewers  responded with a home run of their own from Jake Bauers tying the game.

In the next inning, the Red Sox took the lead with a two-run hit from Rafael Devers giving Boston the lead again.

In Bryan Bello's last inning on the mound, Jackson Chourio scored a run on a fielder's choice play, and Bello's day on the mound ended following the play. Bello pitched 4.2 innings on the mound only giving up three hits and walking two batters. Brennan Bernardino finished the inning.

In the 6th inning, Hunter Dobbins made his first appearance out of the bullpen in his Major League career, and it didn't start too well. Dobbins put two runners in scoring position, and Caleb Durbin scored two runners to give the Brewers the lead.

Wilyer Abreu was able to tie it in the next inning with a solo home run of his own, putting the score at 4-4.

Dobbins went on to pitch two scoreless innings in the 7th and 8th, and Aroldis Chapman pitched a scoreless inning sending the game into extras. The Red Sox had a chance to give Chapman a save opportunity, but Nick Sogard struck out with the bases loaded in what was a prime inning for Boston to win the game.

In the 10th inning, Trevor Story advanced the ghost runner Sogard to third base putting runners on the corners. David Hamilton was next to bat, and he grounded into a fielder's choice play which brought home the runner. The Red Sox didn't do anything else that inning.

Justin Slaten came in for the save opportunity, and wasn't able to get it done. Sal Frelick started the inning beating out a throw at 1st base. Frelick ended up with four hits on the game. After that, Isaac Collins tied the game as Kristian Campbell made an errant throw at home to try to get out the tying run. And in the next at-bat, Caleb Durbin walked it off for the Brewers with an RBI sac fly to center field.

Just an ugly display of baseball for the Red Sox these past two series. This game especially saw some bad defense, as the Red Sox made two errors in the outfield along with both miscues in the 10th by Campbell and Slaten.

Boston has the off day tomorrow, and there should be a shake up either with the roster or on the coaching staff.
