Final: Blue Jays 4, Red Sox 2 - Red Sox lose another lead as Vlad Jr hits game winning 3 run home run in 8th inning
The Red Sox lose their second game in a row to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 blowing another lead in the process.
Just like yesterday's game, Boston received a great pitching performance from their starter, but the bullpen failed to execute a scoreless inning.
Tanner Houck got the start in today's game, and the former all-star had his best game of the season pitching 7.0 innings, striking out six batters, and only allowing 1 earned run. Houck finally found a way to limit hard contact which resulted in multiple innings where he retired the side or only allowed one base hit.
Toronto's starter Jose Berrios also had a strong outing on the mound pitching 6.2 innings and allowing 2 earned runs. As a result, neither side got much done at the plate to start the game.
The Red Sox were yet again the first team to get on the scoreboard. In the 5th inning, Berrios loaded the bases up, and Alex Bregman delivered a two run RBI double which extended his hitting streak and gave the Red Sox the lead midway through the game.
The Blue Jays finally got on the board in the 7th inning with a solo home run from Dalton Varsho. After Varsho's home run, Houck's day on the mound was finished and the Red Sox turned to Justin Slaten to pitch for the 8th inning.
In yesterday'g game, Slaten received the loss after giving up the walk off hit to Alejandro Kirk in the 10th inning, and he would receive another loss in this game after giving up a three run home run to Vladimir Guerrero Jr that put the score 4-2 in favor of Toronto.

Down to their last outs, Yimi Garcia retired the side striking out Trevor Story and Triston Casas giving the Blue Jays their second come from behind victory in a row.
Just another frustrating loss. The Red Sox could've swept the Blue Jays. They had a lead in all three games yet poor bullpen performances and quick innings at the plate result in them losing two of three to an AL East rival. The decision to go to Slaten after he allowed the walk off in yesterday's game is questionable, especially when lefty Justin Wilson was throwing in the bullpen in both games but didn't get any playing time.
Tomorrow, the Red Sox head back to Fenway Park starting a new series against the Minnesota Twins. Brayan Bello will get the start and first pitch will be at 7:10 p.m.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox look to bounce back and win their series against the Toronto Blue Jays after blowing a 6 run lead in yesterday's loss.
David Hamilton is in the Red Sox lineup for just the 10th time this season playing second base.
Kristian Campbell has been scratched from the Red Sox lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays because of right rib discomfort. The 22-year-old was supposed to play center field and bat seventh. Jarren Duran has been moved from left field to center field. Rob Refsnyder, who was not in the initial lineup, will play left field.
