Final: Astros 4, Red Sox 1 - Red Sox top of the order goes hitless in final game of series

The Red Sox lose the final game of their series in Houston 4-1.

It was a difficult night at the plate for Boston's top of the order who went 0/11while also striking out five times. 

For the most part, Walker Buehler had a solid outing on the mound. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Buehler settled in pitching four straight innings of scoreless baseball.

During this time, the Red Sox were able to cut Houston's lead to one run with an RBI single from Ceddanne Rafaela in the third inning. 

Buehler's final inning on the mound didn't ended poorly. He allowed a two-run home run to Yainer Diaz giving the Astros a three-run lead.

Steven Matz and Greg Weissert pitched scoreless innings of relief in the seventh and eighth innings. Besides that, the Red Sox went scoreless at the plate despite doubling the Astros in hits. Boston left eight runners on base and struck out nine times.

The Red Sox will head back to Fenway to start a series against the Miami Marlins. First pitch for Friday's game will be 7:10 p.m.
