WHAT’S UP

Rafael Devers returns to the Red Sox lineup for the first time since Sunday against the Cubs. Devers had been dealing with a sore calf muscle over the first two games over the series.

The Sox third baseman will take a six-game hitting streak into the series finale. Devers is 8-for-20 and has three doubles, three homers and four RBI during his current streak. Boston will welcome his bat back into the lineup after being shutout on Tuesday night, 3-0.

Justin Turner will get the start at first base, giving Triston Casas the game off. The veteran has a 14 game hitting streak (21-for-53) with five doubles, three home runs and 17 RBI. Turner has lefties well over his last 15 at-bats, posting a .428 batting average while also working eight walks.

Rob Refsnyder will play left field and face Waldichuk. Refsnyder has a .912 OPS against lefties this season. Adam Duvall will be back in the lineup and Jarren Duran will get the beginning of the game off.

The Red Sox have gone 11-for-30 (.367) with runners in scoring position in their last three games, after going 1-for-16 (.063) in their previous two. Overall with RISP, the Sox ranks 3rd in MLB in AVG (.282) and OBP (.357), and 4th in SO% (19.2).

Brayan Bello will make his first career start versus Oakland. He earned his team-leading 7th win of the season defeating the Cubs on Friday night. The righty is 4-1 with a 2.21 ERA, .208 opponent batting average, and a 0.93 WHIP over his last six starts.

The Red Sox are 11-7 against AL West teams this season and 36-15 since the beginning of 2022, the best record of any AL team over the last two seasons.

The Red Sox own MLB’s best record since 6/30 (11-3) and the AL’s best since 6/14 (18-10).
