Final: Red Sox 4, Tigers 8 - Red Sox let up 4 runs in 10th inning to lose the final game of the series against the Tigers
Trevor's Game Notes:
Questionable pitching call: After scoring 3 runs in the first 3 innings, the Red Sox would find themselves in defensive troubles in the 6th and 7th inning. Starter Brayan Bello pitched a scoreless game up until the 6th, allowing 2 runs that inning. Bello struggled the most this inning, allowing multiple walks and hits. Instead of getting substituted for a reliever, Alex Cora decided to let Bello pitch the 7 inning. Bello would allow 2 runners on base before Cora replaced him with Justin Slaten, who would allow 2 runs, losing the lead for the Red Sox.
Unlucky Ending: The Red Sox were able to get the tie back in the 8th inning when Rafael Devers hit a solo home run to the Green Monster, his 11th of the year.

After a scoreless appearance from Kenley Jansen in the 9th. The Red Sox loaded the bases with 2 outs. One of the players on base was recently called up Jamie Westbrook, who made his major league debut pinch hitting for Wilyer Abreu. He drew a walk. Connor Wong could not end the game, as he hit a deep fly ball to right field ending the inning and taking the game to extras. In the 10th inning, Cam Booser made an appearance, allowing 4 runs, putting the Red Sox out of reach from making another comeback. A rough final game that the Red Sox could've easily won.
Boston will play at Fenway on Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. against the Atlanta Braves. This will be Chris Sale's first start back in Boston.

WHAT'S UP
The Red Sox have won back-to-back games after losing 3 of their previous 4. They’re 5-5 in their last 10 games and 10-10 in their last 20. Today concludes Boston’s stretch of 23 games in 24 days, from 5/10-6/2. The club is 11-11 so far during that stretch.
The Red Sox defeated the Tigers yesterday, 6-3. Enmanuel Valdez went 3-for-4 with a solo HR, 2-run HR, and a double. He set career highs in XBH (3) and runs scored (3), recording his first career multi-HR game. Cooper Criswell allowed 1 run in 5.0 IP (4 H, BB, 5 SO).
With a win today, the Red Sox would improve to 9-9-1 in series play, including 5-4-0 at home. The Sox have lost back-to-back home series after winning 4 of their previous 5.
Boston recalled INF/OF Bobby Dalbec from Worcester and selected INF/OF Jamie Westbrook to the active Major League roster from Worcester.
The Red Sox placed both Vaughn Grissom (right hamstring strain) and Romy Gonzalez (left hamstring strain) on the 10-day injured list. Grissom injured his hamstring running to first base on a ground ball in the second inning Saturday. He will undergo imaging on it. “He (Grissom) is actually getting an MRI to see where we’re at,” manager Alex Cora said. “We don’t expect Romy’s to be that long.”
The 4th annual Lou Gehrig Day will be commemorated today throughout MLB to raise awareness and research funds for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
