Final: Red Sox 3, Orioles 0 - Crochet allows 0 runs through 8 innings, Devers and Story record multiple hits in win against Orioles

The Boston Red Sox shutout the Baltimore Orioles 3-0, finally snapping their four-game losing streak.

After receiving a six year extension from the Red Sox, Garrett Crochet pitched eight innings of scoreless baseball while also striking out eight Oriole batters.

Boston would score their first run of the game in the second inning as Trevor Story knocked his first home run of the season with a solo shot into left field. 

The Red Sox then scored both their second and third runs in the 5th inning. Ceddanne Rafaela hit an RBI single that brought home Kristian Campbell, and Rafael Devers finally broke his historic drought with an RBI double.

After the 5th inning, Crochet and Aroldis Chapman, who closed the game for Boston, cruised through the rest of the game to complete the shutout against the Orioles.

This was an amazing bounce-back victory for the Red Sox. The headlines have been all about Devers, Story, and Triston Casas not being able to produce any offense, and all three batters recorded hits in this game. Crochet pitched phenomenal and it's an encouraging sign to see him pitch this late into a game. 

Tomorrow, the Red Sox will finish their series against the Orioles at 1 p.m. Tanner Houck gets the start facing off against Charlie Morton.

The Red Sox look to break a four game losing streak against the Baltimore Orioles with Garrett Crochet on the mound.

Before today's start, Boston has agreed to a six-year, $170 million contract extension with Garrett Crochet that covers the 2026-2031 seasons and includes an opt-out after 2030, per Jeff Passan.

The Red Sox also signed Kristian Campbell to an eight-year contract extension worth $60 million in guaranteed money, The deal also has club options for 2033 and 2034.
