FINAL: Bruins 5, Golden Knights 4 - Lohrei PP goal gives Boston late lead after blowing 3-0 advantage

Well, that wasn't easy ... but it's a win and the first one in regulation in 10 games.

Bruins came out storming, perhaps to enact a little revenge against former bench boss Bruce Cassidy, who rubbed his ring in the Bruins' faces earlier in the day, to take a 3-0 lead into the first break.

Then Vegas scored twice early in the second before Boston got Morgan Geekie's third goal to lead 4-2 - and all seemed fine.

Of course it wasn't.

Bruins gave up the next two to allow Vegas to tie the game, and it felt like another meltdown was coming.

But Mason Lohrei scored a softie with a about 5 minutes left and the Bruins held on at the end through a power play and 6-on-4 ... whew. That was close.

• The team has assigned forward Anthony Richard to Providence. Richard, 27, has appeared in nine games with Boston this season, recording one goal and two assists for three points. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward has also skated in 41 games with Providence this season, totaling 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points.
• Jakub Lauko will replace Anthony Richard on the fourth line.
• Derek Forbort, who missed a team meeting earlier in the week, will remain sidelined as a healthy scratch.
• Defenseman Hampus Lindholm (knee) is week-to-week.
• Defenseman Matt Grzelcyk (lower-body) is questionable.
