PREGAME NOTES
Patrice Bergeron partook in Boston's optional morning skate on Wednesday. Jim Montgomery said the captain will take warmup and be a game-time decision.
"Majority of [the decision] is going to be Patrice's," Montgomery said. "As long as he feels, after warmups, that he feels everything's good, then he's going to play."
Linus Ullmark is expected to start in net once again. Montgomery said there hasn't been consideration to go with Jeremy Swayman in Game 5.
"Ullmark's just played really well," he said. "There hasn't been any reason for us to... We're completely confident in Sway, obviously, because of the season he had, but we like the way Ullmark's been handling the puck. We like the way he's been smothering and not giving up many rebounds and stuff. So, we just like the way it's been going."
Montgomery said Boston will go with largely the same lineup as the last two games, even after jumbling the lines at Tuesday's practice. If Bergeron returns, he could return to center between Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk, while Charlie Coyle would bump back down between Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno. Trent Frederic could be the healthy scratch.
Should Tuesday's lines hold true, Bergeron would center Tyler Bertuzzi and David Pastrnak. Marchand would be on the left of Coyle and Foligno, and Hall and DeBrusk would flank Pavel Zacha.
UPDATE: Per warmup, the Bruins will be sticking with Tuesday's practice lines. That change is reflected in the above projection.
Paul Maurice did not name a starting goaltender for the Panthers. Aaron Ekblad and Anthony Duclair will return after both missed Game 4. Neither Sam Bennett nor Ryan Lomberg practiced Tuesday. Maurice said one will be in and one will be a game-time decision on Tuesday. He did not specify again on Wednesday.
“Everybody’s healthy, everybody’s game-time, and then I’ll tell you the truth later,” Maurice told reporters.
