Game 7 Final: Celtics 109, Bucks 81 - 3-point barrage, physical defense, dethrones Bucks
ROUND 2, GAME 7
(2) Boston Celtics vs. (3) Milwaukee Bucks
Series tied 3-3
TD Garden
3:30 PM - ABC
PROBABLE STARTING LINEUPS
Boston: Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, Grant Williams
Milwaukee: Jrue Holiday, Wesley Matthews, Grayson Allen, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Robert Williams is available, but will not start.
Ime Udoka said the Celtics will stick with the rotations they've been using with Williams out, and he'll come off the bench on a "need be basis."
My bet is that Boston has enjoyed not having Brook Lopez on the floor, so they might throw Rob in some spots when Lopez has left the game.
- Khris Middleton remains out with the sprained MCL in his left knee.
- Boston is favored by 5.
THREE THINGS TO WATCH FOR
1. Living in the moment: Everything is magnified in a Game 7. Which players individually, and which team as a whole, will be able to put mistakes aside during the course of the game and move quickly on to the next play? The first team to panic is the team that will probably lose.
2. Home court advantage: Milwaukee willingly sacrificed its chance to host this game. Can the Garden crowd make them regret that? Can the Celtics ride waves of momentum to turn what might have been 7-2 runs into 17-2 runs? Can the crowd rattle the Bucks at all? Can it make it so there's a miscommunication or two on their defensive end that turns something in the game? And along those same lines, can the crowd power the Celtics through the earlier start time by giving them the adrenaline boost they need?
3. The random hero (a.k.a. Who wins the Kelly Olynynk award?): We know Tatum and Brown are each capable of swinging this game in Boston’s favor, but is there a random player who can come up with a 20-something point night that turns this game Boston’s way? Grant Williams, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard seem to be the only candidates, so pick on of those guys if you want.
Personally, I’m going with Grant. He was so good to start this series that I think he has another one in him. But beware, it could be one of the Bucks that comes through.
