THINGS I’M LOOKING FOR
1. Work the ball on offense: The Lakers are not a great defensive team, allowing the fifth-highest opponent field goal percentage in the league and 11th-worst opponent 3-point percentage. They are sixth-worst in assists allowed, all of which means that a little ball movement will go a long way. Boston’s offense can soar if they put in some effort.
2. Defend without fouling: The Lakers live at the line, so the Celtics have to focus on staying in front without getting too handsy. Maybe that means making a business decision or two and getting a basket back on the other end, but getting into foul trouble and getting into the bonus can make this a tough game.
3. The rested guys carrying the load: Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and Jrue Holiday took yesterday off, so getting them some early looks can be a way to not only take advantage of their rested legs, but let the other guys ease into the game.
Follow along with my thoughts as the game goes on. They’ll show up below and in the comments section, so hop in and share your opinion as well.
