THINGS I’M LOOKING FOR
1. Building blocks: I want to see incremental progress, which means avoiding some of the mistakes made in the first game. How they defend pick-and-rolls, late-game execution, and decisions on offense all need to be a little bit better.
2. Jaylen Brown: He has been vocal about how much losing to the Knicks has stuck with him. He rarely misses an opportunity to mention how much that sticks in his side. Will this be motivation to play better or try to do too much?
3. Simons on defense: Much like the first point, I would like to see Simons have more good stretches, especially when it comes to defending the pick-and-roll. He can’t be dying on screens.
Follow along with my thoughts as the game goes on. They’ll show up below and in the comments section, so hop in and share your opinion as well.
