Final: Bruins 2, Senators 0 - Korpisalo picks up shutout against former team as Bruins win against Senators
In the final game against the Senators this season, the Bruins shutout Ottawa in a much needed win against a team they are vying with in the wild card standings.
Taking over for an injured Jeremy Swayman, Joonas Korpisalo picked up his second shutout with the Bruins in one of his best performances of the season.
After a scoreless first period with Boston getting multiple great chances, Morgan Geekie scored the first goal of the game receiving a pass from David Pastrnak.

The Bruins followed up their first goal with a couple chances on the power play. Despite not generating any goals, the Bruins were able to keep the puck on their stick in the offensive zone pressuring Ottawa the entire way.
In the third period, the Bruins killed back-to-back penalties winning much needed puck battles while Korpisalo made the necessary saves to keep Ottawa scoreless.
The Senators pulled their goalie with two minutes left in the game. It was a struggle for the Bruins to get the puck out of the defensive zone on the six-on-five situation, however Pastrnak intercepted the puck with 10 seconds remaining in the game sealing the victory for Boston with an empty net goal.

While it wasn't the best game for the Bruins offensively, they were able to win a significant amount of puck battles playing well with the puck on their stick. Ottawa hasn't been able to find their groove recently, yet the Bruins limited mistakes and came out with the victory.
Next up, the Bruins will take on Colorado at TD Garden at 1 p.m. Saturday. Swayman should be good to go in goal for that game.
