PREGAME NOTES

Not a major shock, but the Bruins will be without both Jeremy Swayman and Derek Forbort for a solid stretch — with Jim Montgomery confirming that both players are “week to week” after both left Tuesday’s OT win over the Penguins with injuries. With Swyaman on the shelf, Keith Kinkaid will serve as Boston’s backup behind Linus Ullmark, while Mike Reilly will slot in for Forbort on the blue line.

Both David Krejci and Craig Smith are not cleared to play, but could be available for Saturday’s showdown in Toronto. 

The Rangers are 6-3-2 to start the season and have won three straight, including a 1-0 overtime win over Philadelphia on Tuesday night. . "They are a real formidable team," Jim Montgomery said. "They are good defensively, they are just a real good hockey team. We have to have our best game of the year to have success tonight, to have a chance at success."
