PREGAME NOTES
After falling to the Panthers in regulation back on Nov. 23, the Bruins will look for some revenge against Florida on Monday night.
Boston might be 2-0-1 on its current homestand, but they haven’t been exactly thrilled with their play so far back at TD Garden — headlined by a shootout loss to the Kings last week. "At the end of the day, it's about what we do out there as individuals and what we're going to accomplish here as a team," Hampus Lindholm said. "If we do all that, it will usually take care of itself out there. It's gonna be a fun challenge, a good team, we'll have to rise up to the challenge here."
After clearing waivers, Craig Smith will remain in Boston’s lineup for Monday’s game.
The Panthers have dropped four of their last seven games, but defeated the Devils on Saturday night in Newark. Florida (15-13-4, 34 points) is three points back of the Islanders for the East's second Wild Card spot. "I think the Panthers are playing real good hockey," Jim Montgomery said. "I know they're a little beat up still. I don't know if they've ever been healthy. They're transitioning offensively extremely well. Their offensive and defensive numbers at 5-on-5 are excellent."
The Panthers will be missing a few key pieces in the lineup, with captain Aleksander Barkov day-to-day with an injury.
