Final: Bruins 2, Kraken 0 - Swayman shuts out the Kraken, Bruins record back-to-back victories on the weekend taken at BSJ Headquarters (Top Bruins)

(USA Today Sports)

The Bruins won their second consecutive game in their back-to-back weekend stint defeating the Seattle Kraken 2-0. A strong first period from Boston along with strong goaltending from Jeremy Swayman became the reason the Bruins were able to pick up the victory.

In what could possibly be Boston's best period of the season so far, the Bruins scored both of their goals setting a commanding tone against the Kraken. After scoring a goal in yesterday's win against Philadelphia, Justin Brazeau scored the first goal off a tip from the point from Nikita Zadorov. Charlie Coyle became a huge contributor towards the goal as the center was able to keep ahold of the puck while being on one knee, passing it to the point which set up the tip.

Coyle would then record another highlight-worthy play minutes later when the Bruins were on the power play. Setting up in their overload power play formation, Coyle received a cross-crease pass from Brad Marchand. Instead of electing to shoot right away, Coyle paused and danced around Kraken goalie Joey Daccord giving Boston an early 2-0 lead.

The Bruins scored another goal from Pavel Zacha, but the play was called back after Seattle successfully challenged the goal.

The rest of the game the Bruins maintained great defense. Although their 2nd and 3rd periods weren't as efficient, they prevented themselves from making crucial mistakes and Swayman made key saves which kept them in the game. Considering their strong 1st period, it was a little disappointing to see Boston only get two goals, but the Bruins finish a busy weekend picking up two victories.

The Bruins will now head to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs Tuesday at 7 p.m.
