PREGAME NOTES
The Bruins have won six in a row, going 9-1-0 in their last 10 games. A win would break the NHL's regular season points record.
The B's have split the season series with Washington so far, taking a 5-2 win on the road on opening night back on Oct. 12 before falling, 2-1, at home on Feb. 11.
Linus Ullmark is expected in goal. Boston is leaning toward going with Jeremy Swayman on Thursday in Montreal, Jim Montgomery said. David Krejci, who skated on his own on Tuesday, will not play the final two regular season games, but Montgomery said it was "probably his best day."
Derek Forbort wore a regular practice jersey at morning skate. Montgomery said he was "surprised" he wasn't in a red, no-contact sweater.
Former Cap Dmitry Orlov has three goals and 12 assists in 21 games since coming over from Washington in a deal that included Craig Smith on Feb. 23, and Garnet Hathaway has three goals and two assists in 23 games since the trade. Smith has four goals and one assist in 20 games with Washington, matching his goal output for Boston this season in 22 fewer contests.
The Capitals defeated the New York Islanders, 5-2, at home on Monday to snap a six-game losing streak. Washington is 2-6-2 in its last 10.
The Caps dressed 17 skaters against the last three games due to injuries. Henrik Borgstrom will make his Capitals debut after being called up from AHL Hershey. Charlie Lindgren is expected in goal after Darcy Kuemper made 38 saves. It was the first time Washington had won this season without Alex Ovechkin in the lineup (1-7-0). He's missed the last two games due to an upper-body injury.
