Final: Bruins 4, Blackhawks 3 (F/OT) - Fraser Minten scores game-winning goal in overtime

The Boston Bruins win their second consecutive game with an overtime victory against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Tonight was a grind, as both teams traded goals throughout regulation. However, the youngest player on Boston's roster provided the game-winning goal to put the Bruins on top.

Four minutes into the game, Casey Mittelstadt gave the Bruins an early lead. In transition, Viktor Arvidsson skated with speed into Chicago's defensive zone, and he delivered a pass in traffic to Mittelstadt, who fired a shot in between Arvid Soderblom's pads.

Five minutes later, the Blackhawks responded with a goal from Connor Bedard. The Bruins struggled to get the puck out of their own zone, and Bedard delivered a one-time shot to tie the game.

In the second period, the Blackhawks took their first lead of the game. Chicago won a face-off in Boston's defensive zone, and Louis Crevier fired a goal that deflected off Tanner Jeannot.

Midway into the period, Jeannot redeemed himself. Boston's third line applied pressure in Chicago's defensive zone, and Michael Eyssimont curled around the right face-off dot to fire a shot at Soderblom. Screening the net, Jeannot collected the rebound and scored his first goal as a Bruin to tie the game again.

At the end of the second period, the Blackhawks received two consecutive penalties to give the Bruins a five-on-three power play, which they took advantage of in the next period.

15 seconds into the third period, Elias Lindholm recorded his second power play goal in consecutive games to give Boston the lead back.

The Blackhawks quickly answered back. With the Bruins caught in transition, Alex Burakovsky found himself open in the slot and tied the game with a shot past Joonas Korpisalo.

Both sides kept the game scoreless for the remainder of the third period, and the game went into overtime.

In overtime, the Blackhawks had their chances to pick up the extra point, but Korpisalo shut the door with clutch saves, including stopping a breakaway against Bedard.

And with two minutes remaining in overtime, Fraser Minten scored on a two-on-one to win the game for Boston.

This was a great team victory for the Bruins. Playing the second game of a back-to-back after traveling back from Washington isn't easy, yet they battled until the very end to secure two points. 

Korpisalo's clutch saves and two goals from Boston's third line gave them the win tonight.

The Bruins have the off day tomorrow, and they'll stay in Boston to face the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Puck drop will be at 7 p.m.

The Boston Bruins play their second game of a back-to-back against the Chicago Blackhawks at TD Garden.

Last night, the Bruins won their first game of the season against the Washington Capitals 3-1. David Pastrnak recorded three points including the first goal of the game. Elias Lindholm and Morgan Geekie also recorded goals. Jeremey Swayman stopped 34 of 35 shots and the Bruins went 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

Joonas Korpisalo gets the start tonight for Boston.
