The Bruins defeat the Colorado Avalanche 5-3, as Joonas Korpisalo picks up his first win with Boston. The beginning of the game started pretty back and forth. Both teams created opportunities to score the first goal, but Korpisalo and Alexander Georgiev kept it scoreless for the first 10 minutes of play.

Boston ended up getting the first goal of the game, as Cole Koepke tipped a shot from Andrew Peeke into the back of the net. The Bruins 4th line has been on fire early into this season, and all three members of this line have played a huge role offensively. A few minutes after Koepke's goal, Colorado tied the game up with a power play goal from Ross Colton. The Bruins had another chance on the power play late in the first period, and Charlie Coyle gave Boston the lead with a cross-crease pass from Mason Lohrei

After going 0-4 on the power play in Monday's game against the Panthers, the Bruins' power play bounced back significantly. Midway into the second period, the Bruins landed on the man advantage again, and David Pastrnak scored Boston's third goal of the game crashing to the net while receiving a pass from Hampus Lindholm.

Within seconds, Boston scored another goal off the stick of Hampus Lindholm, who immediately fired a shot to the net retrieving a loose puck near the hashes of the left face-off dot.

The Avalanche responded with a power play goal from Cale Maker later into the game, and the momentum stuck with them going into the third period. Early into the final period, Mikko Rantanen scored the third goal for the Avalanche which brought the game to a one-goal contest. Following the goal, the Bruins and Korpisalo played great defense until the end. The Avalanche weren't able to get another goal, and Beecher scored his second goal on an empty net opportunity sealing the win for Boston. While it wasn't the best performance in net, Korpisalo maintained the lead for Boston making great saves throughout the game. A great bounce back victory for Boston which can be credited by a more efficient power play.

The Bruins will play their next game Saturday in Utah facing off against the newly located Utah Hockey Club. Puck drop will be at 9 p.m.
