FINAL: Blue Jackets 5 , Bruins 2 - Bruins get embarrassed in an ugly loss
The Bruins fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-2 on Monday night and have now lost three straight games. Boston lacked toughness, committed too many penalties and had too many turnovers. It was the third straight game where Boston fell behind on the scoreboard early on.

Columbus took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Dmitri Voronkov scored at the 14:52 mark.
The second period was when it started to get out of hand for the B's. Ivan Provorov scored at the 5:38 mark to make it 2-0 Blue Jackets. Yegar Chinakhov scored at the 16:42 mark which made it 3-0 Columbus. Boston was outshot 19-9 in the second period. Jim Montgomery made a goalie change during the second period inserting Linus Ullmark to try and send a message to the team.
"I just thought we had no life at that time of the game."

The Blue Jackets kept their foot on the gas in the third when Kirill Marchenko scored on the power play at the 4:51 mark to make it 4-0. It was not until the 8:24 mark when Boston got on the board thanks to Matthew Poitras. The Blue Jackets added an empty netter at the 13:41 mark from Justin Danforth to make it 5-1. The B's got another goal from Johnny Beecher at the 17:40 mark to make it 5-2, but it was too late.

Jeremy Swayman finished his night with 17 saves and Limus Ullmark finished with 18 saves.
The Bruins will be back in action on Thursday night at TD Garden as they will host the San Jose Sharks with face off set for 7p.m.
BIG TAKEAWAYS:
- Weren't tough enough and were out hit 17-12.
- Were undisciplined and took way too many penalties.
- Bad turnovers and trying to be too cute cost Boston chances and goals.
