Final: Bruins 6, Canadiens 4 - Bruins collect first win of season in home opener against Canadiens
The Bruins collected their first win of the season in a 6-4 victory against the Montreal Canadiens. There were a lot of goals and penalties in this game, and half of those goals occured within the first period. After a power play goal from Hamus Lindholm was called back early in the first period, the Canadiens responded with a power play goal of their own scored by Brendan Gallaghe, giving Montreal the lead midway through the period. It wouldn't take long for Boston to get a power play goal that stuck on the score sheet. On their second chance with the man advantage, Charlie McAvoy quickly netted a wrist shot from the point tying the game 1-1.

Montreal responded in the third period scoring two goals that brought the game to a one-goal difference (5-4 Bruins), but Kastelic's second goal of the game sealed the victory in Boston's first home game of the season.
Despite a sloppy defensive game for the Bruins, Boston made up for it with their aggressive forecheck and powerplay. Boston's lineup on the man advantage looked great. They passed the puck well which created a lot of movement and confusion for the defense, and it lead to goals on the scoreboard. Also, Boston's forechecking from their bottom six forwards created a lot of pressure for Montreal's defense that lead to easy turnovers and chaos behind the net. Overall, a great bounce back victory after a dissapointing opening night loss to the Florida Panthers.
The Bruins will stay in Boston and face the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday at 1 p.m.
