Aug 27, 2024; Boston, Massachusetts, USA; Boston Red Sox first baseman Romy Gonzalez (23) high-fives first baseman Triston Casas (36) after a game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-3 at Fenway Park on Tuesday night and snapped their four-game losing streak. Jarren Duran got Boston on the board early in the first inning on the first pitch with his 20th home run of the season. It was also his third long ball in his last three games.

Boston scored two more runs in the first inning on a Masataka Yoshida two-run RBI single which made it 3-0.

David Hamilton, Triston Casas and Wilyer Abreu also got in on the scoring action with an RBI single, RBI double and another RBI single. The Red Sox showed off their leather tonight in the field throwing out two Toronto baserunners at the plate. The first one came in the second inning on a great throw from Duran while playing the ball off the green monster and Danny Jansen made a great play at home tagging out Joey Loperfido coming off the relay throw from Ceddanne Rafaela

The second one came in the fourth inning on a  George Springer fly ball to Wilyer Abreu. Abreu threw a bullet to Jansen to tag out Ernie Clement for the double play.

Cooper Criswell made it into the fourth inning going 3.1 innings and only gave up one run. The problem was the walks and putting the leadoff hitters on base. Criswell hit Springer to start the game. Criswell got out of a jam on a line out to David Hamilton to work around the leadoff hit by pitch. Criswell then walked Springer in the third inning and got burned for it on an Addison Barger sac fly which made it 3-1 Boston.

The Blue Jays got their other two runs on Will Wagner's first MLB career home run and a Daulton Varsho solo shot.

The Red Sox will be back in action tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. when Brayan Bello takes the mound for Boston.
