Alex Verdugo's walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning on Monday snapped a nine-game losing streak against the Blue Jays. Verdugo's homer also counted as Boston's fourth walk-off victory of the season (most in the MLB) and second in its last three games. The Red Sox are 11-6 in their previous 17 games and have the second-best record in the American League in that time, trailing only the Orioles. Masataka Yoshida enters with an 11-game hitting streak which equals the Rangers' Robbie Grossman for the longest active streak in the MLB. Rafael Devers is one home run shy of 150 for his career while also leading the AL with 10 homers. Boston has won four of five times that Tanner Houck has started, including three at Fenway Park.
