Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Brayan Bello (66) throws against the Baltimore Orioles during the third inning at Fenway Park.
FINAL: Orioles 7, Red Sox 1 - Defense with 4 key miscues; Final 18 batters retired in order
A tough day at Fenway all around.
The day started with Trevor Story being sidelined for the rest of the season, and Nick Pivetta going on IL with an elbow injury.
Things got a little better with the pregame ceremony featuring Tim and Stacy Wakefield's two children.
Looked to be a good when Tyler O'Neill hit a freaking tank over everything in the first inning, and then Triston Casas singled in the next at bat.
Then it went straight downhill. That was the last hit the Red Sox would have in the game, and their final 18 batters were sat down in order.
Boston had four big miscues on defense, and the Orioles pounced on them.
