PREGAME NOTES
Thursday marks the second meeting between the Bruins and the Rangers this season. Boston won, 5-2, on the road on Nov. 3.
The Bruins, who did not hold a morning skate, won their third game in a row in a 4-1 win at the New York Islanders on Wednesday. Boston has earned points in eight straight road games, going 7-0-1.
Bergeron briefly left the game after taking a puck to the face in the third period. “Hopefully all the X-rays come back negative,” Jim Montgomery said postgame Wednesday. Montgomery, who is scheduled to speak to the media prior to the game, said he would let Bergeron make the decision to play Thursday if he is healthy. Swayman is expected to start after Ullmark made 26 saves in Wednesday’s win.
The Rangers are 6-1-1 in eight games since Jan. 1, winning 3-1 at Columbus last time out. New York is 7-3-0 in its last 10 home games.
Kreider is expected to return to his spot on the top line after missing three games with a upper-body injury. Lafreniere is expected to bump down to the third line, while Blais will draw out of the lineup.
