PREGAME NOTES

  • After a 10-day layoff between their final preseason game and the start of regular-season action, the Bruins will finally open their 2021-22 campaign on Saturday night against the Dallas Stars.
  • Boston’s lineup will remain the same as it’s been over the last week in practice, with the lone shuffle coming on the fourth line. Karson Kuhlman will slot in for Curtis Lazar, who’s still week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
  • After a strong preseason, Jeremy Swayman will get the start in net for Boston.
  • The Bruins are facing off against the Stars for the first time since Feb. 27, 2020. During the 2019-20 campaign, the B’s posted a record of 2-0-0 against Dallas.
  • Braden Holtby is expected to get the start in net for Dallas. In 22 career games against the Bruins, Holtby has a record of 18-4-0. In those games, he has earned the best save percentage (.939) and goals against average (1.98) than he has against any NHL opponent.
  • Dallas defenseman John Klingberg is currently day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not play tonight.
