PREGAME NOTES

The Bruins held a morning skate Tuesday morning in Ottawa. Craig Smith draws in on the fourth line in place of A.J. Greer, and Jeremy Swayman will start in net, Jim Montgomery said.

With a sub-.500 record, the Senators' high-profile acquisitions of Claude Giroux and Alex DeBrincat haven’t quite panned out the way they may have expected after a wide-open 7-5 win over Boston on Oct. 18. The Sens enter Tuesday in the midst of a three-game losing streak, following up four straight wins.

Ottawa is dealing with a slew of injuries as well. Mathieu Joseph participated in Tuesday’s morning skate, and Jacob Bernard-Docker is nearing a return. However, neither will play Tuesday night, D.J. Smith said. Cam Talbot did not skate and is expected to start, but Smith did not confirm.
