PREGAME NOTES

Wednesday marks the second meeting between the Bruins and Devils in five days. Boston won 4-3 at New Jersey last Friday, thanks to a four-goal second period that saw Pastrnak score twice.

The Bruins did not hold a morning skate after a 3-2 shootout loss at Ottawa on Tuesday. Ullmark, who made 37 saves on Friday, is expected to start after Swayman played Tuesday.

The Devils, who are 3-6-2 since Dec. 1, recalled Thompson and Wotherspoon from Utica of the AHL. Thompson will draw in for Holtz and make his season debut, his 10th NHL game.

New Jersey placed Graves and Marino on injured reserve Wednesday. Graves is week-to-week. Palat returned to practice Wednesday and is “getting closer” to a return, Lindy Ruff said. Meanwhile, Bastian has resumed skating on his own, but is “not close.”
