FOUR THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Starting defense, Marcus Jones star early, Eagles get some revenge late: After watching the offense yesterday, I concentrated on the Patriots' defense today (outside of NE offensive line pass rush 1-on-1s), and the unit showed well early despite not having starting S Craig Woodson (Dell Pettus and John Saunders rotated), and LB Christian Ellis (limited) splitting time with KJ Britt, and cornerbacks Charles Woods, Kindle Vildor and Marcellas Dial rotating. (Giardi will be following with an offensive breakdown)
The run defense seemed to be a lot better, as the Patriots had more stuffs than big runs allowed, at least with the starting defense, which is the focus

I'd say it was pretty even but a slight edge to the Patriots.
Eagles starters cash in team red zone: Both teams congregated on the same field to end practice, with a timed situation - ball on the 25, 45 seconds remaining, 1 time out each, and they needed to go for two.
Patriots first-team offense was intercepted on the first play when Drake Maye forced a slant to A.J. Brown in tight coverage with Riq Woolen. The ball went up in the air and was intercepted by Jalyx Hunt (who was probably the Eagles' MVP of the practices).
Eagles first team scored a touchdown and two-point conversion. Hurts was 4 of 5 on the drive with completions to TE Stone Smartt (Ellis), Wicks (Vildor), Hollywood Brown TD (Vildor), 2-point to Darius Cooper.
Maye and the Patriots came back out and put up their own TD/conversion. Maye had completions to Douglas, incomplete to Doubs (heavy pressure allowed by Vera-Tucker against Ojomo, incomplete to Mack Hollins, touchdown to Doubs against Woolen, 2-pointer to AJ Brown.
Eagles second-team (Andy Dalton): Goedert drop, scramble with Jesse Luketa pressure, complete to Quez Watkins (Saunders), incomplete to Watkins (Kobee Minor) with all-out blitz, incomplete to Eli Stowers (Pettus), incomplete on 4th down to Samori Toure (Dial PBU)

TOP PLAYS DEFENSE
Marcus Jones' first interception was the direct result of a sack by Milton Williams - Hurts was just throwing it to throw it. But Jones' second interception was a great play getting underneath Wicks near the pylon. The ball probably needed to be earlier and higher from Hurts, but Jones read it like a book.
THREE UP
CB Marcus Jones: Had two interceptions. This one is easy.
DE Elijah Ponder: Had a pass breakup, a sack and another pressure.
DE Gabe Jacas: Got some run with the first team as they had some weird substitutions early in the red zone periods, but he had a pass breakup and 1.5 stuffed runs as he crashed the read options. Didn't make much of an impact with the pass rush.
TWO DOWN
CB Kindle Vildor: He was great against backups on the split field, but once he got a chance against the starters on the main field, he was beaten for consecutive touchdowns.
LBs coverage vs. tight ends: Eagles made a lot of plays with their TEs, and the linebackers seemed to be lagging behind.

ODDS AND ENDS
• There were several kerfuffles in this practice, but nothing of the major variety. Most of them happened with the Patriots defense against the Eagles' offense, which caused Nick Sirriani's field to be multiple plays behind Mike Vrabel's field each period.
• Covered a lot of stuff in the various play-by-plays. Couldn't make out why the Patriots had strange rotations at edge, LB next to Robert Spillane, and safety next to Kevin Byard.
