Giardi: Patriots coaches on 'Pop', continuity and special play from the special teams taken at BSJ Headquarters (Patriots)

(Adam Richins for BSJ)

The Patriots are 0-2 after their loss Sunday to Miami

CoachSpeak is back for round two with yours truly. We heard from the assistants here on Tuesday morning. As always, they use words, and I am here to interpret them uniquely.

Bill O'Brien on Demario Douglas' fumble and lack of usage after: "Ball security is obviously a huge part of what we reach. I have a lot of confidence in Pop Douglas, as I do all the players we have. I think the way the game played out the other day, because of what we did, the packages that we went to, whether we were in no-huddle, and some of the things we were doing, it just wasn't Pop on the field. I think at the end of the day, we have to do a better job of continuing to get everyone involved in the game plan throughout the game, and that's what we'll do. They were 32nd out of 32 teams in terms of yards per play in week two.

O'Brien, when I asked him if the lack of continuity on the offensive line is hurting his ability to call games:

"I just think we - look, we've had good weeks of practice, but I think there's been inconsistencies in all of our performances on game day. There's been glimpses of what the offense can be, but we have to be more consistent. There's
