We have now seen a baker's dozen of practices and a preseason game so far, so it's a good chance to reset where we see the roster going when it comes to final cuts. Remember, teams can elevate three players every week from the practice squad, with the ability to retain veterans, so it's basically a 56-man roster for a while.

HIGHLIGHTS
Well, I was way off about LB Jourdan Heilig
He's already cut. Have never seen a player get the Mattew Slater practice treatment and barely make it out of the first game, but Heilig's film was that bad. No juice, little physicality.
One more receiver on (making it six), one tight end gone (five)
You'll have to see which one between Kayshon Boutte and Malik Cunningham.
Keion White moves from the interior to edge

57. DT Daniel Ekuale: Keion White collateral damage that I don't like, but the numbers are the numbers. White has to get playing time somewhere.
58. WR Kayshon Boutte: His game film was not good. He needs to pick it up rapidly and stop thinking.
59. OG Kody Russey: His film wasn't as bad as it looked. They really like him.
60. DE DaMarcus Mitchell: They love him on special teams, so I'm dubious he gets cut. And Sam Roberts played great the other night. But how many DE/DTs can you keep?!
60. TE Matt Sokol: He has showed way better in practice than in the game.
THINKING OUT LOUD
Still going to need another roster spot if Calvin Anderson comes off NFI: I already have Cody Davis and Mike Onwenu on the roster because they'll be back. But Anderson? I'm not sure. It's not like they are bursting with tackles ... and they studied and signed this guy (as they did with Riley Reiff, who is now a guard, but I digress).
I want a veteran QB for the practice squad.
If the Patriots sign a real running back, someone else is going to have to go, and it might be on defense.
