FOXBOROUGH — Patriots just wrapped up a short practice that was all red zone work to continue the install from the spring. Nothing huge but here are some quickie thoughts:
- Matt Patricia called all the plays early, and when there were team periods late. Clearly he seems to be in control. Joe Judge feels like just a position coach.
- Trent Brown was back at LT, Isaiah Wynn at RT. Rest of the line the same except David Andrews being out.
- Pierre Strong was limited.
- Marcus Jones worked with the CBs and not the safeties. He was the slot behind Shaun Wade.
- Jalen Mills, Terrance Mitchell and Shaun Wade were the top CB group.
- Malcolm Butler was with Jack Jones and Marcus Jones.
- Ja'Whaun Bentley and Raekwon McMillan were the top LBs but Mack Wilson replaced Bentley in coverage situations.
- Joejuan Williams was relegated to scrubville but did have a nice INT late.
- DeVante Parker had a couple of nice catches where he showed off his catch radius. Flexed for the crowd as well.
- I wish I had as much energy and enthusiasm as Kendrick Bourne.
- It was all red zone and not quite all-out, especially in regards to pass rush, but good day for passing offense. Defense had its moments as well. A teaching day mostly.
