In a wild, back-and-forth affair that saw three lead changes in the final four innings, the Red Sox twice rallied from behind and eventually claimed a 6-5, 10-inning win -- and a sweep -- over the Yankees.
Xander Bogaerts slammed a two-run single to left in the top of the 10th to snap 4-4 tie. Two innings earlier, Bogaerts had delivered a sacrifice fly to put the Sox ahead 4-3, but Matt Barnes was unable to slam the door in the bottom of the ninth, suffering his second blown save of the season.
The Yankees got a run back in the bottom of the 10th and had the potential tying run on base before Phillips Valdez for the final out for his first career save.
The sweep was the first in a decade for the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, who entered the series having lost their previous 11 games in the Bronx.

B9: Sox catch a break as home plate umpire Gabe Moreles rings up pinch-hitter Rougned Odor on a pitch a few inches outside, sending the game to the 10th inning.
B9: Second blown save of the season for Matt Barnes, who gives up a one-out walk to Aaron Judge and a run-scoring double to Gleyber Torres.
B8: Huge inning for Josh Taylor, who closes it out with back-to-back strikeouts of Miguel Andujar and pinch-hitter Giancarlo Stanton to strand the potential tying run at first base.
T8: A little bit of "get-'em-on-get-'em-over-and-get-'em-in'' from the Red Sox. Christian Arroyo reaches on a gift double, advances to third on a groundout to the right side and scores on a sac fly to deep CF from Xander Bogaerts. The Bogaerts' at-bat -- giving himself up to help the team with a runner on third and fewer than two outs -- is what Alex Cora has been preaching since spring training.
T7: A walk (Hunter Renfroe) and a two-run shot down the line (Gonzalez) and the Red Sox have tied it up. A slider from reliever Lucas Luetge runs down and in, right into Gonzalez's swing path.
B6: As dominant as he can be when he's under control, something has to be done with Hernandez's wildness. Can't be an effective bullpen option averaging a walk per inning.
T6: Red Sox haven't been able to get much going against Domingo German. Since the Verdugo homer, they have just two singles and haven't had anyone in scoring position.
B4: Terrific play behind the second base bag by Marwin Gonzalez, who saves a run and gets a forceout to save one run as another run scores.
T4: Xander Bogaerts gets a little too aggressive on the bases, trying to stretch a single, but is cut down at second on a strong throw from Miguel Andujar.
B3: Other than the two-run double from Sanchez, the Yankees have not hit the ball particularly hard against Richards. But they have created a lot of traffic in the first three innings.

Cora hinted that Martinez might also be held out Monday as a precaution.
* Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom said Connor Seabold, sidelined with elbow inflammation last month, continues to make progress with his throwing program but isn't yet ready to return to game action.
