PREGAME NOTES

An already shorthanded B’s D corps is set to take another major hit for Game 4, as Brandon Carlo will not play after suffering an undisclosed injury following a hit from Cal Clutterbuck on Thursday night. 

"We'll list him as day-to-day until he gets on the ice," Bruce Cassidy said of Carlo. "So, when that happens, as usual, it's a step closer. We'll see how he does, but out tonight. We'll see if he gets on the ice (Sunday).”

With Carlo on the shelf and Kevan Miller still on the mend from a suspected concussion, Jarred Tinordi will slot in and play alongside Connor Clifton on Boston's third pair. However, Cassidy did note that Boston will likely shuffle through a number of different pairings on Saturday night. 

"At the end of the day, I'm sure you'll see Reilly with different players," Cassidy said. "It's a game that we're looking at - and talking to Kevin (Dean) - there's no rule that says you have to play pairs every shift. You can mix guys in as the game unfolds, as it dictates - who's going, who's not. Situational stuff. Maybe D-zone draws versus O-zone draws.  

“You're probably going to see a lot of different partners tonight together. We'll go from there. That's how we'll determine it. I expect all six will be at their best, and whatever role they're put in, they do it well so you don't have to worry too much about mixing and matching. I'm sure we'll see a bit of it and whatever helps us win is how we'll approach it."

No lineup changes are expected for the Islanders in Game 4.
