LIVE COVERAGE, by John Karalis
Overtime
- The Celtics are on an 11-5 run in overtime thanks to some 3-pointers falling for Tatum, Brown, and Walker
- Despite some infuriating defensive lapses, the Celtics were able to hold off the TWolves in OT
Fourth quarter
- A Kemba Walker 3-pointer ties the game for Boston... and then free throws gave Boston a lead
- Celtics open the quarter on a 12-3 run, punctuated by a great defensive play and save by Grant Williams, who then dished it to Pritchard for a 3
- The Celtic are up to a 26-11 start and are pouring in 3's. They're 6-8 with four minutes to go
- Consecutive 3's by Karl Anthony-Towns and D'Angelo Russell closed a 9 point gap to 3 with 1:29 left
- Minnesota closed the game on a 15-4 run and we're going to overtime
Third quarter
- The Celtics did not come out of the half with any more fight. They're down 16-10 in the quarter and 82-67 in the game
- Robert Williams came out after 3 minutes after another rough night for him. His past three games have been varying degrees of rough
- Kemba Walker is 1-7 on the night
- Celtics are on a 11-2 run, their first sign of life on the night, fueled by Jayson Tatum who is up to 31 points on the night
- Tatum had 17 points in the quarter to bring Boston back to within 5 heading into the 4th
Second quarter
- The Celtics have been able to score and cut the lead to 10, but they are doing almost nothing defensively. Robert Williams is having another tough game at the moment.
- The Celtics are getting little-to-nothing from anyone offensively outside of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. They have 28 of Boston's 48 points
- The Celtics are down 11, and have 12 turnovers leading to 12 TWolves points
- Amazingly, Boston is within 9 at the half, which is a testament to how bad Minnesota is when they're otherwise not getting wide open shots and run outs
First quarter
- The Celtics opened with a set play for a Jaylen Brown alley oop
- The Celtics are super sloppy right now, but they've gotten back on defense to make up for some really careless turnovers
- Minnesota turned two missed Robert Williams dunks into dunks of their own
- Boston's defense is terrible right now. Minnesota is shooting 60% at the moment.
- The Celtics gave up 39 points to the Timberwolves in the first, 11 of which were fastbreak points. They shot 15-25. Boston turned it over 5 times and shot 45.8%.
