PREGAME NOTES
Other than Dan Vladar getting the start in net, there will be no additional lineup changes for the Bruins on Thursday. Sean Kuraly was removed from the NHL's COVID-19 Protocol list on Wednesday, but given how much time he's been off the ice, the fourth-line forward is going to need a few more practices before getting cleared for game action. Jake DeBrusk is the lone Bruin remaining on the COVID-19 Protocol list, but the winger did get clearance to skate on Thursday at Warrior.
The Penguins are looking to snap a 10-game winless streak in Boston (0-8-2) dating back to Dec. 16, 2015. Pittsburgh is 16-3-1 at PPG Paints Arena to lead the NHL in home wins, but the Pens are 7-8-1 on the road, where they play their next six games and eight of nine.
Pittsburgh is currently rolling off of a four-game win streak, but the Pens are shorthanded down the middle — as Evgeni Malkin has not played since suffering a lower-body injury against the Bruins on March 16. Netminder Tristan Jarry is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Casey DeSmith will get the start against the B's on Thursday night.
David Krejci is one assist shy of his 500th career assist.
