FOXBOROUGH — Rob Gronkowski (groin), Marcus Cannon (ankle/concussion) and Rex Burkhead (ribs) all did not participate in Patriots practice on Wednesday, according to the injury report.
Cannon's concussion was not previously known. Could make him a longshot for this game, and clear the way for Cam Fleming or LaAdrian Waddle to start against the Texans, who have J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Whitney Mercilus. Yikes.
A healthy number of players were limited:
WR Danny Amendola (concussion/knee)
WR Phillip Dorsett (knee)
CB Stephon Gilmore (groin)
LB Dont'a Hightower (knee)
WR Chris Hogan (knee)
LB Elandon Roberts (thumb)
CB Eric Rowe (groin)
WR Matthew Slater (hamstring)
DT Vincent Valentine (knee)
The good news here is that Amendola has been cleared from concussion protocol, or else he would not have taken part. Gilmore and Roberts are new injuries.
