Frederic scores. Boston, at long last, has a 5v5 goal. 2-1 game.
B's back on the PK.

Dreadful 5 minute power play. Completely fumbling the power play opportunity given to them.

Seemed like a clean hit — with a brutal result — but Tanev is given a 5-minute major and game misconduct.

Not a great power play, to say the least.
Frederic draws yet another penalty. Bruins going back on the power play.
Oskar Steen with two shots on goal in 3:34 of ice time. And both led to quality looks against DeSmith.
No dice on the short power play for Boston.
4v4 hockey now.
End First: 1-1 game. Vladar with 14 saves.
Woof, brutal shift from Zboril there leading to the Tanev goal.

B's kill off the penalty.
Pastrnak heads off for a ... trip?
Oskar Steen gets a good look down low while crashing the net.

That's a confidence booster for Vladar. What a stop.

Now 4v4 hockey. Malkin headings off for a hold.

PREGAME NOTES:
With Tuukka Rask still sidelined and Jaroslav Halak having just played on Monday, the Bruins will turn to Dan Vladar in net for Tuesday — with the 23-year-old goalie set to make his first career start. Vladar previously appeared up in the NHL ranks during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, making 12 saves on 15 shots in relief of Halak in a 7-1 loss to the Lightning in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals back in August.
Oskar Steen is also set to make his NHL debut, with the winger skating on the third line next to Charlie Coyle and Nick Ritchie.
Brandon Carlo, Kevan Miller, Jeremy Lauzon, Ondrej Kase, John Moore and Zach Senyshyn all did not make the trip down to Pittsburgh with the team, but Carlo is at least making strides in terms of his recovery from a concussion. "Carlo's been in (COVID) testing every day, feeling better," Bruce Cassidy said. "He is not in that area where he can't leave (his room) or anything. He's been active in coming in, doing some off-ice, getting tested for the COVID protocols. That's a positive. Got to get him on the ice."
David Krejci is one point shy of 700 for his career. He would be the eighth player in Bruins history to reach that mark.
Both Jared McCann and John Marino will be game-time decisions for the Penguins, who are now 12-2-0 at PPG Paints Arena this season.
