Good morning!
Your daily rundown of what’s going on with the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Revolution, and what’s about to happen…
Well, that was a brutal.
The changing of the guard in the AFC East was already well underway before New England and Buffalo met at Gillette Stadium on Monday, but the subsequent beatdown unleashed by Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Brian Daboll and the Bills put an emphatic stamp on the Patriots' miserable 2020 campaign — with the new top dog in the division posting a decisive 38-9 victory in Foxborough.
Greg hopes this thrashing will force Bill Belichick to take a long look at his roster moving forward.
Cam Newton only managed to throw for 34 yards in Monday's loss. Jarrett Stidham wasn't much better. Ooooof.
And yet, for as much as Newton and the Patriots' offense have been a conduit for criticism this season, New England was completely outclassed in just about every phase of Monday's game — especially on defense. J.C. Jackson might have to burn the game film after this one.
B-Robb breaks down what was an uneven first week of the 2020-21 season for the Celtics. The C's will be back at it tonight against the Pacers.
Conor takes a look at Ben Hutton — who could be a value pickup for a Bruins team in desperate need of some stability on the blue line.
