Down 2-0 before they got a chance to bat, it looked like another loss was in store for the Red Sox.
But after they tied it 2-2 in the third on a two-run homer by Rafael Devers, they didn't look back, adding on right through their final at-bat to post a 6-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, snapping a nine-game losing streak.
Devers knocked in three runs and Jackie Bradley Jr. delivered two more as the Sox won for the first time since Aug. 9 as five pitchers limited the Phils to just three hits.

- The Red Sox finally activated INF Christian Arroyo, who was claimed on waivers from the Indians last week. To make room on the major league roster, the team optioned RHP Marcus Walden to the alternate training site. To make room on the 40-man roster, the team designated RHP Mike Shawaryn for assignment.
- After the Red Sox used seven pitchers Tuesday night, Roenicke said "three or four guys are down today and a couple of guys we'd like to stay away from.''
- The Sox have tentatively planning for Colten Brewer to start Friday in Baltimore. Brewer made his first start last week.
- Roenicke on not getting length from starters other than Martin Perez and Nathan Eovaldi: "It makes a difference, there's no question. We're using six, seven guys a night most of the nights and that's going to strain your bullpen,. We've been able to flip guys out and to get them to the taxi squad and bring in a fresh arm. We're going to have to continue to do that unless e get some of those good starts that we're looking for besides Nate and Martin.''
- Jackie Bradley Jr. (right wrist) and Christian Vazquez (plantar fasciitis) both returned to the lineup, which wasn't posted until an hour before gametime. J.D. Martinez, who came out of Tuesday night's game because of dehydration, remained out.
