PREGAME NOTES: 

Well, our regularly scheduled preview content has been turned on its head, as Tuukka Rask announced Saturday morning that he has opted out of the NHL's "Return to Play" format. Jaroslav Halak will get the start on Saturday and, barring any setbacks or injuries, the remainder of Boston's Stanley Cup run.

David Pastrnak is expected to be a game-time decision for Saturday's matinee matchup between the Bruins and Hurricanes. Pastrnak, who was “unfit to participate” for Thursday’s Game 2 loss, was not ruled out by Bruce Cassidy — but the B’s bench boss added that Pastrnak did not participate in Friday’s optional skate and will not be able to test out his injury on the ice ahead of warmups. 

 Regardless of Pastrnak’s availability, Cassidy did say on Friday afternoon that Boston is likely going to switch a few skaters around ahead of Game 3. “We’ve thought it through,” Cassidy said. “We had some guys go on the ice today. There’s always the day-to-day bumps and bruises, so to sit here and (say) our lineup (now) may be inaccurate because of that, but we’ll be making some changes at forward and D. Again, some of that is to get some energy in the lineup and change the look of our forward group.”

Carolina has yet to name a starter between James Reimer and Petr Mrazek.
