PREGAME NOTES: 

The Bruins will look to build off of Wednesday’s double OT win over the Canes in Game 1 when they return to the ice at Scotiabank Arena for Game 2 on Thursday night. 

Even though Tuukka Rask historically hasn’t fared well in games with zero days of rest in between, Bruce Cassidy did confirm that Rask would indeed get the start in net once again on Thursday. 

With Rask back in net for Thursday night, Cassidy expects the rest of Boston’s lineup to remain the same — although he did add that a few players were battling some bumps and bruises after Game 1 and did not participate in the club’s optional skate Thursday morning. As such, there could be a few changes that Cassidy and his staff might need to make ahead of puck drop, although we likely won’t receive further clarity until warmups get underway around 7:25 tonight.

It’s unclear if Rod Brind'Amour will stick with Petr Mrazek or roll with James Reimer in net for Game 2. The Hurricanes head coach typically doesn’t announce a starter until right ahead of puck drop.
