PREGAME NOTES:
- The red-hot Bruins will look to secure their eighth win in their last nine games — and, on paper, they should manhandle the cellar-dwelling Red Wings. But for some inexplicable reason, Detroit has had Boston’s number over the years, with the Red Wings looking for their sixth straight victory against the B’s. The Red Wings, who are 2-11-1 in their past 14 games, have not lost to Boston since Oct. 13, 2018.
- Bruce Cassidy will not switch up his forward lines following Wednesday’s 4-1 win over the Canadiens, but the blue line could be in line for a reshuffle — as Jeremy Lauzon is cleared to return from his two-game suspension. If Lauzon does not go in, John Moore will likely get the start. Tuukka Rask will get the start in net.
