PREGAME NOTES:

  • The odds aren’t exactly in the Coyotes' favor for this matchup, as the B’s have won 16 consecutive games against Arizona. Boston is already entering this matchup with plenty of momentum, given that Bruce Cassidy’s club is in the middle of a five-game win streak. Boston has not lost to the Coyotes since Oct. 9, 2010, in Prague.

  • The Coyotes have been stuck in a rut for some time, with Arizona posting a record of 1-4-2 in its last seven games. They have lost their last five road games.

  • The Bruins will be shorthanded on the blue line, as Brandon Carlo will not play on Saturday due to a “family matter”. He is expected to return to the lineup on Sunday against the Red Wings. With Carlo out, John Moore is expected to return to the lineup and skate on Boston’s second D pairing with Torey Krug.

  • With a record of 11-0-6, Tuukka Rask has not lost at home in regulation this season, which is tied for the longest such streak to start a season for a Bruins goalie since Gilles Gilbert went 16-0-1 in 1973-74.
