PREGAME NOTES:

  • The Bruins will look to extend their winning streak to five straight games when they take on the Blackhawks for a road matchup on Wednesday night. Since returning from the bye week, Boston is 4-0 and have outscored the competition, 15-4, during that stretch.

  • The Blackhawks have made things a bit interesting in the Central Division as of late, but are now 1-1-1 in their last three games. Chicago has excelled on the second leg of back-to-back slates this year, posting a record of 9-1-0 during those games. Boston is 3-3-1 under the same circumstances.

  • David Pastrnak is now second in the NHL in goals scored, after getting surpassed by Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin on Tuesday night. Ovechkin has lit the lamp 40 times this year, while Pastrnak has 38 goals.

  • Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net for Boston. The B’s backup goalie is 8-2-3 with a 2.13 goals-against average, .929 save percentage and two shutouts against the Blackhawks.
